48 notes January 5, 2012 General Lana Del Rey Thoughts I feel like Liz Phair’s Liz Phair is the reason why this sort of thing exists? Like, Lana Del Rey is just “H.W.C.” in human form. And also basically a year-long version of “Santa Baby.” But, like, the songs aren’t bad? If you look past the stupid lyrics. And also the stupid vocals. It’s aurally manipulative, in a way. It is tricking my ears into liking it. (My ears are idiots.) I sort of just expect, after six listens to “National Anthem,” for this song to just devolve into the sounds of a baby cooing. “Me sexy baby! Ga ga!” Oh shit, we’re on to something.
