I love my mother but the woman just emailed me to ask me if I was crazy because I “posted my birthdate on BlackBook” and all “they” need is my birthplace to apply for a copy of my birth certificate. I drafted a few replies, all with the subtext of “YOU ARE A CRAZY PERSON,” and then I scrapped them all, instead choosing to sigh and change “I will be 29 on Saturday…” to “I will be 29 this weekend” because that’s a whole lot easier than arguing over identity theft with my mother.
