Andrew has been cat-sitting for some friends in Chelsea, so I’ve been living on 20th Street for the last few days. It’s been nice, primarily because I can walk to and from work in ten minutes, and also because it feels like I’m both having a staycation and also living in a new apartment with a huge backyard and a king-sized Tempur-Pedic and two cute cats and no cable. Last night after work, I came “home” with Thai take-out. I ate food, watched about an hour’s worth of HBO Go on my laptop, and then read half of a book. Around 11:45, Andrew came “home” from work, and we sat outside drinking a beer and playing The Actor Game, which is a game we “invented” in which one of us picks an actor and we take turns trying to name every single movie he or she has been in. (It’s stupid, but also stupidly fun). Then we watched this ridiculous recording of Lauren Bacall in Applause (because we’ve been “into Lauren Bacall lately”) and went to bed.
I feel like this is what my near-future is going to be like, and I’m pretty cool with that.
