On Sunday night, after we saw Sweet Bird of Youth, Andrew and I ran into an old acquaintance of mine on the Brown Line in the Loop. We sat next to him and his girlfriend on the way back to Lincoln Square and caught up on what we were both up to. He finished his MFA and is teaching at Northwestern and writing a lot; I told him about working at BlackBook. Before we got off the train, he said that he always remembered me dressing up as a LOLcat for Halloween back in 2007. “I remember you saying that you just wanted someone to pay you to blog,” he chuckled.

What’s the lesson we’ve all learned? You can easily make your dreams come true as long as your bar is set at the lowest setting. Also, my dreams are kinda dumb.
